Currency Exchanges 1350-1800 (Metz)

The Currency Exchange (Metz) data set reconstructs monies of account for 29 cities and regions in Europe, mainly from the Lower Rhine region, and their changes in value, expressed in gold or silver equivalents, over the period indicated. The fine weight equivalents of the monies of account are meant to provide basic data for converting nominal price figures from the period into grams of precious metal, but also serve as measures of the values of the monies of account themselves.
